The 2024 Calls for Proposals to Fund Soil Health Living Labs have been published
Life on Earth is intricately tied to the health of its soils, which provide essential services like food production, clean water, and habitats for biodiversity. However, soils are under threat across Europe and beyond. Recognising the importance of sustainable soil management, the EU Mission "A Soil Deal for Europe" aims to establish 100 living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition towards healthy soils by 2030. In line with this mission, the European Commission has announced the launch of two calls for proposals funding the creation and establishment of soil health living labs (SHLLs). The calls, published on April 17, 2024, invite applicants to submit proposals for the following topics:

2. HORIZON-MISS-2024-SOIL-01-02: Living Labs in urban areas for healthy soils

Applicants are reminded of the support available through NATI00NS, especially through the Helpdesk and the Matchmaking platform, as well as are encouraged to engage with SOILL, the dedicated 'Living Lab Support Structure,' to receive tailored advice and support in the day-to-day operations.
In light of these calls, land managers, researchers, public authorities, businesses are invited to attend the national engagement events organised by NATI00NS to learn more about the opportunities and support available for applicants. We are also working on a new series of webinars to provide applicants with tailored advice on specific topics. Together, we can work towards a greener, healthier soils.
